Oh Hell No! Darth Cheney Must Be Stopped

How can anyone with a conscience vote for any candidate that still supports the War Council in power?

Four days before the election, as Republican candidates are battling to save their seats in Congress amidst a backlash over the war in Iraq, Vice President Dick Cheney told ABC News the administration is going "full speed ahead" with its policy.

"We've got the basic strategy right," Cheney told George Stephanopoulos in an interview to be broadcast Sunday on "This Week."

[snip]

"It may not be popular with the public — it doesn't matter in the sense that we have to continue the mission and do what we think is right. And that's exactly what we're doing," Cheney said. "We're not running for office. We're doing what we think is right."

Go read that again. The Vice President of the United States [gag] does not equivocate when it comes to their intentions. It does not matter what the people think - they will press on with their reign of death around the world.

This comes on the heels of George Bush's own set of amazingly stupid revelations.
While out on the campaign trail, President Bush has publicly said he intends to keep Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and Vice President Dick Cheney in their posts through the end of his term. It was just one more move by the president to shore up support for Republican policies ahead of midterm congressional elections.

I can't wrap my head around the fact that anyone still thinks Rumsfeld and Dick "Dick" Cheney are competent leaders - let alone worthy of making the decisions of our government. [shudder]

Election Day is on Tuesday. As Andrew Sullivan said the other day, "This is not an election anymore, it's an intervention."

Remember that - wavering voters - you have the chance to put the brakes on the current path the country is barreling down at the moment with fatal and destructive consequences. There are candidates to support and permanently retire; and ballot initiatives that must either be defeated or promoted to law that will have the potential to steady the compass.

Whatever you do, don't sit this one out - register your complaint on the status quo.

If, however, you still support the status quo after all the botched leadership, torture, and spite towards the Constitution; well...then you'll have to explain to me how it feels to live your life in a state of delusion. Things are not right.

Here endeth the rantata.
