In November 2006 more than 100,000 Latino citizens who are registered to vote in Arizona will not vote unless we do something about it. Many of these people live in historically low-voting areas of Maricopa, Pima, Yuma, and Pinal counties.More info at the AZNetroots linkage above. Please spread the word.
This year, instead of coming in last in voter turnout, the Mi Familia Vota campaign wants to make sure that these areas come in first. To do that, Mi Familia Vota is providing a handful of talented, hard-working people an opportunity to learn the art and craft of organizing and to get paid for it.
