In a departure from past years, the Federal Election Commission won't be hitting the road this spring to tutor congressional candidates on the nation's complicated campaign finance rules.

A tight federal budget has prompted the FEC to cancel workshops it usually holds around the country, the commission announced Thursday. Three had been planned for spring, but the FEC decided to cut them to save money.

Speechless and outraged. When the Democrats return to power in Congress someday, they better make sure election reform is on the short-list of immediate priorities that receive restoration and repair.
